Speedy progress.....

My feedsack quilt top is coming along nicely.

Although the pattern is made of strips on the pattern , I have achieved the same design by using the dissappearing nine patch- saves a lot of time!

Did I really need more fabric?

Ths week has been a little bit of an indulgence.

A great backing for my square eyes quilt, and a spotty geen binding fabric!

I have gone all feed sacky again after seeing a great pattern in a very old American patchwork magazine. These repros are all moda.

These can be added to the mix from my stash. Some of these are original from a few bundles I bought on Etsy a few years ago.

And a bit of what you fancy- does you good,  so this is Flea Market Fancy  by Denise Schmidt. I added the bright orange as it went soooo well! Not sure what I am going to do with this but i would like to come up with a hand sewn project to take travelling to Norway with me  in a couple of weeks.

The house had a good clean this morning so I am awarding myself time out for good behaviour- cutting mat here I come!

Seeing spots....

Well, I bit the bullet and went with the spots!

I am really happy with it.!

A mug rug in the process made from the salvages of the fabrics used .

And here is one I made earlier- finally quilted and bound! This is my first hand quilting attempt, using a lovely pattern from Moda.

The fabrics are Mama Said Sew, and I used a charm pack plus plain white.

What will my next project be??????

Squares within squares....

I read Allison's Stack and Wack blog and decided to have a go.

I wanted to use up some of my aqua stash.

Made one mistake- cut 8" squares instead of 8.5" !had to trim the squares up so they have come out at 7"

Should I use this lovely grey " Mama said Sew" texty print for sashing?

Or should I leave the sashing but put a border round the edge?

Or spotty sashing??

What do you think??

ps- colours in pics are poor as taken this evening- much more vibrant in daylight!

Scrappytrip addiction!

Came across   Rita's scrappy tripalong at Red Pepper Quilts and thought it was a great idea to use up some strips rom a jelly roll that I had left over.

Loving it! Amazing what you can achieve in a lunch break! I have one more block to make and will then decide which 4 to put together for a small lap quilt.

Back to work!! xx
