Taking the Americans to Greenwich.....

Had a lovely ( but cold) day in London yesterday, showing the sights to a couple of American friends from Texas.
Fisrts stop was the Olympic village, sadly you cannot walk in the par any longer as it is being redeveloped as housing and business.

So we hopped back on the Docklands light railway and went to Royal Greenwhich, which although I am  a Londoner by birth, I hadnt visited before- just went to the lovely Greenwich market on previous visits!

i got up at the crack of dawn to drop them off at Heathrow, and came home to complete the refurbishment of the beach hut. And here is the finished article!

Very happy with the new interior colours this year- all from a charity shop find of 2 pairs of John Lewis curtains!

Now I am having a well deserved glass of wine, some smoked slamon nibbles and Elaine Page on the radio- who could ask for more??

Busy as a bee........not just sewing

Well, a day off and jam packed with to do list- dentist this morning for a scale and polish, boiler service this afternoon, and a little bit of me time to do a bit of sewing! I had a cooking moment-saw The Hairy Bikers on offer -their diet version, and jsut had to make this !

Lamb tagine! yummy!

In between preparing my feast, I decided it was time to have an echino moment....

although it is symetrical so far, the rest of the borders are going to be random patterns of echino joined in 2 inch strips- watch this space....

Japanese folded windows........

Had a go at something I saw on pinterest- I bought an old Gap denim top from a charity shop and didnt like the fit so I recycled it along with some of my scrap Kaffe Fassett patches...........

This will make a great pillow front with a denim shirt back recycled for the back along with a button fastening.

Nothing feels as good as finishing quilt!

Even when its just a little one!

This was the experimental scrappy trip around the world which I love- may well make a bigger version!
I have seen so many different colourways of these made by lots of bloggers, and they all work!
