Feeling grey........

But not in a bad way- have a thing about grey at the moment- so had a little trip to the Eternal Maker in Chichester for a fix!

Hoped to find some more texty prints but there was a bit of a shortage today! But I love this grey
with text. I realise I slipped a bit of red in there, that was because I couldnt get the new range of Moda Mamma Said Sew by Sweetwater in this country yet- have to wait a bit. It is absolutely gorgeous, but I will be patient.

Also in the post today from Jaybird quilts I received my Hex n more template for cutting hexagons and diamonds and triangles. Cant wait to try it out on this roll of Good Fortune by Kate Spain which I bought a while back.

I'm off to do some cutting.

Project Linus virgin!

Having attended the Rectory Quilters festival last week, I decided it was time to start making quilts for
Project Linus. I picked up a leaflet from the local co-ordinator and read thro the requirements . I decided that to start with, the 20"x20" size for the prem babies would be a good start and well within my capabilities!
Now I did cheat a litttle- I had this quilt top hanging around for a while and I couldnt decide what to do with it -so i cut it down to size and backed with fleece.

I am pretty happy with the result- I have emailed the co-ordinator and wait for her instruction!
I am no longer a linus virgin!! I know there are lots of you out there, in other countries too,  that are well versed in this charity, so I am glad to join your ranks!

Local quilt show

I haven't been blogging much lately- so I thought I had better get my act together for an update. The only quilt I have completed recently is a little baby quilt for a friend who is expecting a boy anytime now. I did my usual thing of improvising with the fabrics I had  in the stash and this is how it came out-

I was pleased with the result, so it will be going in the post sometime soon!
As I had a little extra time to spare today, I popped into the local Rectory Quilters Quilt and Flower Show. The work was lovely, and I had a chat to a lady who was doing the most divine handquilting-
I must tackle this soon!

Here are the highlights, pics only !

Nice eh??
WIP- my paper pieced project is coming along nicely, watch this space. And I have almost finished a small quilt with my first disappearing nine patch attempt.
I plan to make a quilt or two for Project Linus, a very worthy cause. I am going to stick to incubator quilts for premmies to start with, 20 by 20 inches. In fact I think I will head for the fabric stash without further ado and pick my fabrics!
