Well, I have decided that it is time that I took the plunge and got something posted on my blog. You will have to bear with me while i try to get it right, its a case of working itout as I go along as my daughter is travelling at the moment so I cannot pick her brains!
I went to a great little fair today, the "Its already been done VintageFair" at a small school in Ringwood. I bought the most beautiful tapestry school with my favourite swan picture on - I already have the framed version in one of the bedrooms.
I decided to go dressed for the part- an old Cath Kidston dress finally fits again since I have lost 2 stone!!
The hall was decorated with lots of vintage lampshades, and all the stalls were beautifully presented. I was most impressed by the quality of the crafts - I cam e home feeling totally inadequate!
This is the fab stool, perfect for my feet when I am sewing.
I went to the fair with my friend Susie- she is a great car booter and between us we could open several shops! She is not so much into vintage but i definately have to fight her over fabrics! When we got home I cooked lunch while she raided my fabric stash and collared some of my Kaffe Fassett anemone ............I can never refuse her!
While the going is good, I thought i would let you see my work in progress- its a hand pieced retro style Grandmothers Garden , a little of the fabric is reused but most is repro feedsack.
Its taken a couple of months with a little bit each evening , and its only going to be lap sized but it will be the first big project I have done, all others have been cushions or bits and pieces.
It feels great to have actually got something in print- well at least I hope that is what will happen when i click on the publish button!
